Pastor Doug
The Rev. Doug Hjelmstad (MA, MDiv) came to ALC as transitional minister in November 2021. He was born and raised in Colorado Springs and was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church there. Upon graduating from college in 1982, he moved to Conway, New Hampshire where he lived and worked for nearly 30 years. He earned his Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (’14) and was ordained to ministry in Word and Sacrament in January 2015. Prior to coming to ALC, Pastor Doug served congregations in Benkelman and Haigler, NE. He is the proud father of one daughter and four grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys photography as both hobby and spiritual practice
Administrative Assistant-Lisa Wagner
Lisa Wagner grew up in North Platte. She moved to Gothenburg after graduating from UNK in 1998. She enjoys gardening and reading, but spends most of her time raising her three children and trying to convince them they don’t need any more pets.
